Liminal job role: Part-time Senior Publicist (2-3 days)

Do you love PR, have excellent financial media contacts and are a pitching pro, but don’t want to manage a team, chase new business or deal with many of the aspects that come with a typical senior agency position? Then the role of part-time Senior Publicist at Liminal could be for you.

 

We’re looking for a seasoned practitioner to take on a focused role strengthening the team’s media relations capabilities, on a two- or three-day basis.

 

This role would suit someone of Account Director level or equivalent, who is keen to make the most of their PR skills and contacts, while working part-time, though still as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities include

 

  • Developing new story angles and media pitches for clients
  • Regularly pitching a wide range of journalists
  • Identifying opportunities for clients to comment on breaking news
  • Coaching junior team members on how to pitch better
  • Advising clients on media strategy and tactics
  • Drafting & providing feedback on press releases, articles and other content

*Initial holiday allowance is 20 days, going up to 30 days after one year’s service, pro-rata. The office is closed between Christmas and New Year, but these days are not deducted from your holiday entitlement.

  • Strong, demonstrable track record of successfully pitching clients to a rage of media, including national and broadcast press
  • Excellent and up-to-date media contacts, and knowledge of the UK media landscape
  • Deep financial services knowledge and associated communications experience
  • The ability to think creatively when developing pitching ideas
  • A desire to help others improve their media relations skills
  • Confident advising clients on media strategy and execution
  • A positive, can-do attitude whether working independently or as part of a team
