Out and about in May & June

Out and about in May & June

May and June were particularly busy months for events this year. However, as we approached the warmer months, it gave us the rare opportunity to network outside, and clock up a few 1000 miles for a very good cause.

Liminal joined over 50 participants at the HFC Kilometres for Kids Half Marathon at the Denbies Wine Estate: a sunny run to raise money for initiatives supporting children affected by abuse across the UK.

It was definitely an uphill battle for most, but the wine at the end of the tunnel was a great incentive to keep us going! We are extremely proud to have collectively raised over £70,000 for the charity. Congratulations to everyone involved and thanks to all who donated!

We also joined a packed crowd to explore the future of financial advice for Professional Adviser’s PA360 conference. Vulnerability, the next generation of clients, and adaptability in a volatile, digital world emerged as dominant themes.

Additionally, the team at Liminal are always looking for opportunities to get a deeper understanding of what journalists in the space are keen to hear about.

A couple of our Account Manager’s took part in Roxhill’s Q&A with Josh Spero, Wealth Editor at the Financial Times, who shared what catches his eye at FT Wealth. The takeaway was that he’s particularly interested in the human stories, the contradictions, as well as any cultural shifts.  Fewer surveys and comments, more stories and drama.

May also saw the team attending ETF Stream’s ETF Ecosystem Unwrapped, the headline ETF event in the calendar. Active ETFs remained a hot topic, but other themes like listed share classes, the entry of more US issuers into Europe, and regulatory pressure also stood out.

It was great to see familiar faces and connect with new ones, especially within the Women in ETFs community. Big thanks to Jamie Gordon and the team for another standout event.

Another shout out to the team, who also kindly invited us to join ETF Stream for the market close bell ringing in partnership with Cboe.

We also joined an insightful evening at Brown Brothers Harriman, where the focus was on ETF distribution and the growing need for sophisticated, targeted marketing across Europe.

June was an equally packed month, no surprises as we approach the Summer holidays. However, one stand-out event for us was the Women in Finance Football event, which is a part of its larger sports series to encourage personal and professional development for women in the industry. The event included some coaching from a couple of ex-professional footballers, as well as a five-a-side match and concluded with some networking drinks.
