Daneiru, London

If you’re a sushi lover, or regularly host clients who are, this is one recommendation you’ll want to bookmark on Google Maps.

I recently visited Daneiru in Chelsea Village after it was highly recommended to me, and it completely exceeded my expectations and might be some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The fish was unbelievably fresh and not at all “fishy”. The setting is small and intimate, with genuinely warm, personable yet friendly service. My particularly favourite touches are the freshly grated wasabi and the traditional soy sauce brushes (so you apply soy directly to the fish, as intended, rather than dunking and overpowering the rice). It’s these thoughtful touches that elevate the whole meal which I don’t think I’ve found in any other Sushi spots in London.

We ordered the scallop tataki, scallop nigiri (both on the specials board), and a standout nigiri platter featuring prawn, eel, salmon, tuna, seabass, and yellowtail, along with a side of charred chutoro nigiri with ponzu and jalapeños. We finished with a beautifully done tuna dragon.

If you’re entertaining clients, celebrating a win, or simply want to enjoy exceptional sushi, I can’t recommend Daneiru highly enough. Perfect for sushi fans and those you’d like to impress.
