Presented in partnership with ALFI, the Funds Europe European Fund Finance Securitisation Forum brought together allocators and GPs for a day of rigorous debate and practical insight at a pivotal moment for the asset class.

The forum set the scene by exploring how European fund finance is transitioning from a bank-dominated relationship market to a broader, institutionally distributed one — driven by demand, regulation and the growing appetite among investors for lower-risk, income-generating assets with attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Against that backdrop, delegates examined how ratings are reshaping the fund finance securitisation landscape and unlocking new sources of liquidity. Sessions turned to NAV securitisation as an emerging liquidity engine, before a detailed exploration of CFO securitisations and the implications of UK Solvency II reforms for structured fund vehicles and diversified assets.

Private credit also took centre stage, with discussion around the significant — and largely underappreciated — opportunity within asset-based lending, and what it means for the broader market as institutional appetite continues to grow. The day closed with a forward-looking conversation on the trajectory of rated funds and feeders, and how a once-niche corner of the market is finding its way into the mainstream.

Throughout, the overarching theme was clear: securitisation technology represents the next natural step in the evolution of fund finance, with the potential to unlock meaningful new opportunities across the ecosystem.
