Opportunities in European Private Credit

Liminal attended an insightful discussion on the opportunities in European private credit, hosted by the CAIA Association in London. The conversation explored key drivers behind the growing market, including the retrenchment of risk-averse banks, the challenges of a fragmented landscape, and the high barriers to entry for new players.

With fewer corporate loans being issued—particularly in the mid-market space—and larger US investors deterred by smaller ticket sizes, the European market presents a compelling opportunity for private lenders. Beyond investor potential, private credit is poised to support economic growth and productivity gains.
