Out and about
A series of key events explored trends in financial marketing, GEO, and the evolving landscape of capital markets and innovation in financial services.
Liminal sparks innovation at key industry event
March and April kept the team busy, with a strong run of events spanning financial marketing, adviser strategy, capital markets, and the increasingly hard-to-ignore world of GEO.
We kicked off with FP Live! on 23 March, the UK’s flagship conference for financial marketing professionals, held at CodeNode London, which Liminal sponsored. The event welcomed over 500 senior marketeers and 80+ speakers. This should be a staple event in your calendar if you’re a financial marketeers.
Also in March, Julian headed to PRmoment’s conference on the Intersection of PR and GEO, a timely and thought-provoking day exploring how generative engine optimisation is reshaping brand visibility. The overriding takeaway was that GEO is real, it is happening now, and the gap between hype and reality is closing faster than many expect. The data points shared were striking: AI search is already influencing B2B buying behaviour in meaningful ways, and earned media is emerging as a critical driver of visibility in that environment. Plenty still to figure out, but the direction of travel is clear. It also will be apart of the discussion for our own Liminal Conversations event on 5 May, where we will be exploring exactly this territory with a small group of senior financial services marketing and communications professionals.
April brought PA360 on the 23rd, Professional Adviser’s flagship conference for financial planners and advisers, with Robert Peston delivering the keynote. The agenda reflected the moment well, with Consumer Duty, digital transformation and intergenerational planning all featuring prominently.
The following evening we were at the Capital Pioneer Awards at Shakespeare’s Globe, a wonderful setting for an event celebrating innovation in financial services across digital assets and AI. We were proud to sponsor the Young Capital Pioneer Award, recognising the emerging talent already making a meaningful mark on the industry.
The month rounds off with the Irish Funds Spring UK Symposium on 30 April at Convene, Houndsditch. With over 800 professionals expected and a packed agenda covering ETFs, tokenisation, private credit, AIFMD II and the macroeconomic outlook, it promises to be one of the stronger gatherings of the spring season.
Looking further ahead, May and June are shaping up to be equally busy. We have a packed calendar, with the Morningstar Investment Conference, the exceptional™ rebrand dinner, Women in ETFs, ETF Ecosystem Unwrapped, and the Funds Europe Fund Finance and Securitisation Forum all in May, followed by the Women in Finance Group’s tennis event in June. And of course, we have our own Liminal Conversations evening on 5 May, bringing together senior financial services marketing and communications professionals to explore the role of earned media in AI search. More on all of these in the next edition.
