Challenge

Spectrum Markets, offering 24/5 equity trading, struggled to differentiate itself in the competitive European market. Despite appealing to retail investors seeking flexible trading hours, skepticism remained, especially among sophisticated traders. Additionally, overcoming the challenges of navigating post-Brexit regulatory divergence and ensuring the platform could handle liquidity and risk management outside traditional hours was key.

Solution

We created and launched SERIX, a sentiment index based on Spectrum’s own trading data, providing regular insights into how retail investors were positioning themselves across asset classes. This gave the media a reason to talk about Spectrum in the context of broader market moves, linking them to real-time sentiment, central bank decisions, and macro trends.

Result

The campaign successfully positioned Spectrum Markets as an innovator in the European trading landscape. Media coverage in top-tier financial outlets, such as Financial Times, Financial News, Citywire, increased visibility and attracted investor interest. The business was increasingly viewed as a market participant rather than a peripheral provider.
